Business for the Arts is now accepting applications from Ontario Municipalities for its 2011 artsVest program!

 5 Ontario communities will each be awarded a matching incentive fund pot varying from 25K to 75K in addition to sponsorship training for local cultural organizations, helping to spark lasting partnerships between the arts and business sectors.  

Our artsVest Program, which has flowed a total of over 2M to Ontario's arts and culture sector since 2006, goes national!

Business for the Arts’ matching grant program goes national

Stimulating business investment in the arts.

Toronto, March 31, 2011 – Business for the Arts (BftA), Canada’s only national association of business leaders who support the arts, has announced plans to expand artsVest, their flagship matching grant program to provinces outside of Ontario with the addition of $1.6M in funding from Canadian Heritage.   These funds will be matched by provinces who come on board, which in turn will be matched by the private sector.

Summit Overview The Canadian Arts Summit was founded in 1998 by The Banff Centre and Business for the Arts. The Canadian Arts Summit is a unique national leadership forum, co-ordinated by The Banff Centre. It is held in late March/early April of each year and brings together the chief executives, artistic directors, and board chairs of Canada’s largest 50 not-for-profit cultural institutions: symphony orchestras, theatres, opera and ballet companies, as well as heritage and art museums — primarily those with budgets over $5 million.

Business for the Arts recently hosted an event at the Brantford Arts Block in Brantford, Ontario to celebrate the partnerships formed between business and culture through the artsVest program, which was brought to the city in early 2010.
